News from the CCCWM Nations

Greetings from Jack & Winona in Santa Cruz, Bolivia

SALUDOS! Greetings! We hope that all of you are well and recovering from your recent snow storms. It would be very hard to describe a snow storm to the natives of this area since they are accustomed to tropical warm weather most of the year. Winona and I are doing well and we are so excited to see our school in early February. (It's our Fall Season on this side of the Equator) Every classroom is full to the brim with excited kids who are so eager to learn. We plan to do some classroom expansions in a few months, plus a new chapel.

Mission Team in Santa Cruz

We were so blessed to have a Work and Worship Team with us from Church of Praise in Hamilton County, Indiana a few days ago. This group was headed by Pastor Mark and Pat Spaulding and it included Mrs. Marcia Farmer & her daughter Emily. This group was a great blessing to our work here in Santa Cruz and everyone loved them and they were sad to see them leave. Some of projects that they accomplished included painting the blackboards & outside walls. Also, they were busy installing new blackboards & fans plus hardware for doors, etc. This team did a number of projects with the children such as DVBS. They provided crayons & other materials for crafts. They blessed the children with gifts that had been sent to Bolivia by Annette Greer, Carol Daubenspeck & others. One of the most important projects at the school was to take pictures of all the students that will be sent to sponsors in America. There will be a translated letter from each student to their sponsor, also.

A SPECIAL LETTER FROM MARCIA & EMILY FARMER

(Marcia and Emily recently came to Santa Cruz on a mission trip with Pastor Mark and Pat Spaulding)

"Through this 10-day trip to Bolivia, we both encountered a life-changing experience. God has filled our hearts with love for his children (our brothers and sisters) on the other end of the world, in a way we had never known.

Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Jack and Winona and the Luna family. We, the very first day, were able to help in the school classrooms by repairing and painting blackboards. During two days of school, we helped the students with a craft where they had lots of fun, and were proud of their finished design.

The school staff was so welcoming and their heart for the children came out in everything they did. They all presented a program for us with lots of music, hugs, kisses and tears. This truly made it hard to say goodbye to them.

One day we made a trip to a Christian orphanage where 22 of the children pack into 4 taxis and go to our school every day. This orphanage is well operated and the children are lovingly cared for.

Another evening we had the opportunity to give testimonies and sing at a women's home for addicts and prostitutes. God was truly there! Five women accepted the Lord into their hearts, and one was filled with the Holy Spirit. Another woman had been hardened by living on the streets for 30 years found the joy of the Lor

d!

There is so much to share, but this is a glimpse of our visit there. A wonderful ministry is taking place down there, and we are so thankful we were able to be a part of it for a short time. And, yes, we hope to go again.

New From Jamaica

We have been so thrilled to have a number of teams from Indiana coming down to do ministries and projects across the Island of Jamaica. Thanks to the following teams for their great love for Jamaica:

NEW HOPE WESLEYAN CHURCH, COLUMBIA CIT

MIKE ANDERSON, TEAM LEADER

"All is good in northern snowy Indiana. I just want to give you an update on some of the things our New Hope Wesleyan mission's team was involved in while we were in sunny, rainy, cloudy Jamaica

We had a team of 10, me :) Mike Anderson, Jamie Bowers, Tony Stoffel, Season Rose, BJ Rucker, Jodi Mikesell, Patricia Tash, Jake Herendeen, Gail Hite and Beth Mikesell. There were 12 interior 4x8 sheets of plywood that needed replaced in the basic school. Our team replaced those 12 sheets and put in a corner cabinet and painted the newly installed plywood. We also had VBS and dental hygiene instruction for the children, passing out toothbrushes and floss for everyone at the Church in Windsor, the Church at Thomas Road and The Church at Golden Grove. We had over 250 Children and adults combined at all three Churches.

It was an awesome time. The spirit of our Lord was moving that week that's for sure. We were also able to put a photo cell up and tie in the existing lights to it. There are now two lights on the balcony one at the side door and one over the deck on the upstairs addition. We put a new hard drive in Pastor Maxo's laptop and it is up and running smoothly now.

We brought 2 other laptops home with us to have repaired but unfortunately we are only able to repair 1 of them the Fujitsu, we will put a hard drive in it and try to pick up another laptop. It's sad to know the School has a computer lab with no computers in it. We will need to find someone who will be willing to take the 2 laptops back down to Jamaica.

The worst thing that happened was me breaking my finger carrying the plywood up those 79 slippery steps but God was merciful, I could have easily lost the end of my finger. I went to the DR. on Tuesday he said it will be fine, just need to wear my splint for a month.

We all had a great time playing with the children and doing our projects. God is so great and loves his people so much we wish we could have done more. If there is anyone going down anytime soon and would like to ask any questions or hear some of my thoughts on future projects just forward my e-mail address to them. Well Jack if I have forgotten to mention anything I apologize in advance. Talk to you soon and be careful in Bolivia."

A New Name for Our School Here In Santa Cruz

We have a wonderful school here in Santa Cruz.  Every classroom is bulging with children from grades K-11.  We plan to enlarge the building, hopefully in June of this year.  Recently we were faced with another challenge.  As you may know, Bolivia is a Communist nation and their forces have come against our entire department in the past where it took a miracle to maintain our schools, churches, etc.

The last attack came against our school. The police came to close us down because we had the name Christ on our records, etc. We had operated for the past few years under the title: Comunidad de Cristo (Christ Community). We were able to find the finances to re-register this school under the following name: Col. Professor Noel Kempff Mercado. Our new shirts display this name under the sign of The Cross, The Dove & the Fire of Pentecost. So far there have been no restrictions placed against this beautiful badge. The name of this Colonel Professor Noel Kempff Mercado stands out in this part of the church world as a man who gave his all for Christ and came very close to becoming a martyr of the faith. Today I am wearing this shirt and standing with our dedicated teachers. I feel it to be an honor to represent Christ Community as a potential martyr for Him.

A few months ago, an entire army of Evo Morales surrounded our city of over 1 million residents. No traffic was allowed to enter or leave the city. The food, gas, etc. was all gone after several days of restrictions. Our teachers thought that they might die. One of our students, a young boy, came to Prof. Fernando, one of our teachers, and said, "Teacher, we are not supposed to be afraid. I had a dream!  We are not to be afraid."

Mission Teams Coming to Jamaica Later This Year

*WHITE ROCK CHURCH, Noblesville, will be coming down on July 3rd. Lavonna Foix will head this team.

*CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE, Williamsburg, will arrive in Jamaica on June 15th. Brenda Bowman will lead this team.

*NORA CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP, directed by Adam Bryan will be in Jamaica in August.

*REX FREEMAN AND TERRY MCMILLAN, from White Chapel are planning a "Work Mission" to Jamaica in late Fall or early Winter, hopefully.

A Miracle Family!

Her name is Olga and she is a "miracle lady." Last Sunday we spent about 3 hours at her tiny little house out in the country. Olga was diagnosed with Aids about 4 years ago. Her husband had died of Aids a few months earlier. At that time Olga was pregnant. She was declared "unclean" and she was shunned by her relatives & prohibited from riding on a bus or entering other public places. Olga and her two other children were forced to sleep on the streets, under trees, etc. They had to search for food to stay alive. No one volunteered to help them. Olga decided that her only choice was to kill the children and then commit suicide. She did not see any other hope.

Then, her miracle happened. Someone spoke to Olga and told her that there was a church that would help her. She had never heard of Christ Community but she was desperate and found her way to our campus. Our pastors and teachers provided food for Olga and her precious children. They found sleeping quarters for the family, also. Then, the pastors and teachers began to pray daily over this family. This continued for several days until one day one of our pastor-teachers said, "I feel that it is time to take Olga to the medical center and have her re-examined." They all agreed and Olga was given a medical examination and declared "completely free" from Aids. What a celebration spread through the church, school and community.

Today Olga and her entire family are well. Three of her older children are in our school. Olga has a means of income, also. She is an excellent clothing designer. One of the pastors in the area built a church alongside her little home and the entire family attends services each week. Olga & her entire family are our friends. Last Sunday we had a great time sharing the Word, memories, plans for the future & some delicious food & drink. Olga & family are walking miracles. I want them all to meet, one day, my mama and papa who prayed for me when I was a premature baby and was dying. My papa prayed, "Father please spare my son and, maybe one day, he will become a preacher." That is one of the main reasons that I believe in miracles!

MISSION TO BOLIVIA IN JANUARY 2010

A team from Central Indiana journeyed to Bolivia in late January.  That team consisted of John and Betsy Potts, Steffani Terry, Mark and Pat Spaulding and Jack and Winona Terry.  One of the first assignments was to participate in a Mission Wedding Celebration which united Esther Luna, (daughter of our Bolivia Directors, Pastors Bernabe and Karina Luna) to Michael Warren.  Following the wedding, there were a number of ministries and "outreaches" conducted by the team.  The CCCWM-Bolivia ministry has a large school, a number of house churches, a central church plus many opportunities of evangelism.  Jack and Winona will remain in Bolivia until the end of April.

SPECIAL FINANCIAL NEED FOR BOLIVIA

The church-school van down here has not operated for more than 1 ½ years and our pastors, leaders, school children have been forced to use taxis & city buses during this time. Also, we are forced to hire taxis to take us to our house churches in the evening plus other special needs. The entire cost for engine repairs, etc. will be $2,500.00 U.S. I am jumping for joy down here in Bolivia. I just got word that Nora Christian Fellowship has deposited enough money, $2,600, to repair the church van.  Praise the Lord!

Haiti Report

As most of you know the powerful earthquake demolished much of the Island and very few buildings were left standing. In the community where our school and church are located all of the houses were destroyed, except, our school-church building. This is a miracle building. The property was donated by an elderly Haitian lady by the name of Madame Dite who prayed for 6 years for someone to come and build a school-church in her community. This building still stands firm today and serves as a church, school and ?refuge' for many of the homeless. Our minister, Pastor Estanvile, also, provides food for the hungry. We have been able to send funds to help with this great need through Western Union. In a few weeks our Haiti overseer, Charlie Collins, Pastor George Cooper, Tina Cooper & Don Gipson will be taking a team down to minister and to help in every way possible to bring help and hope to these dear people.

A Report from Charlie Collins, Overseer:

As most of you know we will be taking a trip to Haiti on March 3rd so that we can see first-hand how we will best be able to help down there. There will be mainly an evaluation trip & also to show some support to our local pastor, his family and all our school children and friends in Haiti. We will be taking about 150 lbs of luggage per person that will contain all kinds of medicines, clothing and other much needed items.

I want to thank each of you for your support of this mission work. Your thoughts and prayers will be appreciated while we are there.

We have been able to send some money to Haiti. Right now food is the greatest issue we find in Haiti. Once that our school starts again we will be feeding each of our 85 students and teachers a hot meal every school day. We will also use the kitchen to help feed those in our community.

Here are the members of the Mission Team going to Haiti in March:

                Brother Charley Collins

                Pastor George Cooper

                Trina Cooper

                Dan Gipson

India Report

"The LORD will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; you shall be like watered gardens, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail."  Isa 58:11 (NKJV)

The Lord is doing great things in India at this time. In spite of persecution the church is growing as never before. In the area where we have our mission, churches, orphanages., there have been hundreds of pastors killed, churches burned, believer's homes burned, etc., but the church of that region has multiplied "7 times over!" We plan to spend two weeks there in June or October of this year in different types of evangelism, training, etc. One of the highlights will be ministering at the largest Leprosy Colony in the world.  Pray that many of these suffering outcasts from society will find Christ and eternal joy.

Israel in 2011

We wish to invite any of you to consider making the Journey of a Lifetime with us in October, 2011 to the Holy Land.  We have around 50 potential candidates at this time.  If you are interested in knowing more about this Pilgrimage please call or e-mail us, and we will send you information.  We plan to hold a "Pilgrim Planning Party" on May 23rd of this year.  The planning meeting will be held at Christ Community Christian Church on north 10th Street in Noblesville at 3:30 p.m.  We are pleading for all of your prayers for the peace & protection of Israel.

Some Future Plans To Share His Love!

We hope to join a CCCWM team that will go to India in the month of October. We will be going to the state of Orissa where so many of our churches have been destroyed, pastors killed, believer's homes destroyed, etc. This is a "White Harvest Field" and the churches have multiplied over 6 times during this time of persecution. Also, we will be able to minister in the largest Leprosy Colony in the world. It will be one of life's greatest blessings to tell those precious people who have been pronounced "unclean" that Jesus loves them and has a mansion prepared for each of them. He loves us all the same!

 Jamaica Mission

Faith Community Church, Noblesville

 Mission Trip January 14-21, 2010

Report from Karen James, Team Leader:

Five of us, Jennifer Hazel, Gail McCollum, Annie and Mike Casey & Karen James from Faith Community Church, Noblesville went on a week's mission trip to Jamaica on Jan. 14. We were welcomed into Pastor Maxo Dejanis' home as members of their family & were blessed to develop personal relationships with Pastor Maxo, Marline and DeJuana.

We discovered that one advantage to a smaller team is the ability to become very close in a very short time. We would all sit around the dinner table in the evening and laugh and share throughout the meal. The main purpose of the trip was to try to develop a product created from natural resources that could be made by the women of Golden Grove to be marketed in the U.S. All proceeds would then go back to these women to help them support their families as give them a feeling of self worth. We didn't know what this item would be but after a hike through the bush to collect materials & an evening spent in trial and error, we decided on a cross made of bamboo & wrapped in a vine called "WHIS."

Pastor Maxo did his version of Paul Revere and called out to the women he would encounter encouraging them to come and be a part of this women's project.   We had a great response and an assembly line was set up to make the crosses so that each woman participated equally & will share equally in the proceeds. As all of this unfolded, we knew that God had put us where He wanted us to be, doing what He wanted us to do. Our trip to Golden Grove was the answer to a year of praying for a way to reach out to these women because one woman, Rose, had touched my heart a year ago.

We also spent a day a Faith Community Church, Waterloo, to develop a product with the women there. We decided on their making "Shabby Chic" flower pins for jackets & hats & we were able to get them started on this project. We have been selling crocheted hats and Jamaican picture note cards for them already, but wanted to find a "production line" product for them as well. (Karen James)

JENNIFER HAZEL-Faith Community Mission Team: Just as most people who go on mission trips would say, I would wholeheartedly say that I went on this trip to bless others, but instead, I was the one blessed. I was so happy to spend a little time with the children in the Basic school and Academy at Golden Grove & also at the school at Waterloo. I continuously think of these children & their teachers & pray that they will continue to work towards furthering their education so that they can improve their situations.

I find myself wondering what I could do to help these teachers reach these special children. They have so many needs & are so grateful for the help they get. I enjoyed getting to know the children through teaching Sunday school as well.  I was so overwhelmed with gratitude towards Pastor Maxo & Marline. I'm sure many people do not know how tirelessly they give of their time. They are the glue holding the community of Golden Grove together in every area including through Sunday worship, driving the school bus, cooking lunch for the children or hosting mission groups. Truly the pair of them, along with their beautiful daughter, has inspired me. They are a wonderful example of what it means to serve & I will treasure my new friendship with them always. (Jennifer Hazel)

GAIL McCOLLUM-Faith Community Mission Team: As with any "first timer" I was excited and anxious about my mission trip to Jamaica. Pastor Maxo & his lovely family not only made me feel welcome.but made me feel like a part of their family. I was so impressed with the church and the schools.I could feel the love of Jesus everywhere. After working with some of the women in the church on a project to market in the U.S., I was impressed with how Pastor Maxo & Marline helped in the organization & were our biggest cheerleaders during the entire process.

On our final day as Pastor was getting ready to drive us from Ocho Rios to Montego Bay he said we were going to pick up a couple of passengers which I thought was a bit strange.but okay. Then, he said it was two women from the church who had been working with us and they wanted to make the trip with us one last time. I had tears in my eyes as we picked them up and they crowded in the van with us. Leaving was much harder than I thought.I went on a trip to make a difference.and the difference was made in me. (Gail McCollum)

ANN CASEY: It was a great experience to work with the women at Golden Grove. They were so warm and friendly to each of us. Staying with Pastor Maxo & Marline was a "dream come true" for anyone on the mission team. It was just like going home to visit your own family, everything comfortable & relaxing with laughter and lots of love. I feel that we are very blessed to have Pastor Maxo & family in Jamaica. (Ann Casey)

MIKE CASEY: I was apprehensive and had concern about this mission trip. But, once we arrived at Golden Grove, God blessed me with peace of mind. This place in time is exactly where He wanted Karen, Gail, Jennifer, Ann & me. Brother Maxo, Marline and Dejuana welcomed us with love and open arms. Of the mission trips I have taken, this one stands out as the most inspirational! I was privileged to spend quality time with Brother Maxo. One day we just walked the neighborhood, talked & enjoyed fellowship with people. There was a dear lady who was in her 99th year. She was bed-fast but still had a clear mind. What a joy it was to pray with her. But, what always "stands out," in all my visits, are the children of Waterloo and Golden Grove. When I look at them, I see the face of Jesus. His humble servant, Mike Casey.

Special Prayer Requests

We would really appreciate your prayers for the beautiful children in our school here in Santa Cruz. The classrooms are packed with kids from K thru grade 11. We have plans to build a multi-purpose building in a few months that will house more classrooms, a large chapel-church & play areas for the students. Next, we need prayer for our teachers, pastors & leaders that they will find strength for their busy schedules. Many of them are forced to work at a second job due to the economy & limited salaries. Finally, we need prayer for the bank loan that has been promised us for the purchase of the land and buildings where we have our ministries. Everything has been signed and approved, but the actual funds have been delayed.

If You Have A Prayer Request please feel free to call or send an e-mail The Lord has called me to be an intercessor for a lot of people, churches & missions around the world. I am awakened early in the morning to bring these precious petitions before the Lord. We have seen many miracles as a result of prayer. You may send your request to our e-mail address: winonaterry@msn.com

World Missionary Press to Assist Us with Materials

It has been such a great blessing to work with World Missionary Press located in New Paris, Indiana. They have provided us, in the past, with Bibles, tracts, coloring books for children, etc. for our work in Haiti & Jamaica. On Feb. 22nd, we were blessed to receive a number of New Testaments & other materials from WMP. We wish to thank Fred & Betsy Eiler and Jay Benson for this great support.

Our New Telephone System in Santa Cruz

It is hard to believe that we now have a Carmel telephone system down here in Amazon Basin. It is an OOMA phone and we can call free to America and other places. David Sapp, our close friend, made this "miracle" possible. If you wish to call you may dial as if you were calling a Carmel number. Feel free to call if you wish to chat or to give a prayer request. Simply call: 660-4558 or if you are calling from another area code you will need to call: 1-317-660-4558

Some Special Animals and Tribes in This Area

The Santa Cruz area is in the Amazon Basin and we are quite near to large forests/jungles where there are lots of       crocodiles, monkeys, boas & other animals. Quite close to our school one can find a tree where a group of monkeys live.   Parrots fly over regularly. Not far out in the jungles there are a lot of Indian tribes plus some Cannibals.

Evangelism in the Amazon Basin

CCCWM is so blessed to have a well trained native missionary who travels constantly in a canoe thru the rivers and by motorcycle through the dense forests to reach and teach tribes who have not heard the gospel. His name is Pastor Ruben Duran & he has a passion to reach the unreached for Jesus. Would you pray for him today?

SOME "MINI-MIRACLES" IN BOLIVIA

Here are a few "miracles" we have seen in the past few days:

1) We have obtained all of the finances to pay for our church & school compound, and land where our school and church, etc. are located. We have a wonderful school with lots of children, but we are crowded and need more space & buildings.

2) The Church-School Van is almost repaired and will be ready for use tomorrow, I think. We have been without transportation down here for some time. Gasoline is very cheap down here in the Amazon Basin....some of it for 15-20 cents per gallon. Is it that cheap in Alabama? Ha! The cost of the van repair, around $3,000, is being sponsored by Nora Christian Fellowship. Thanks to all of you & blessings!

3) The new building program that will provide a Multiple-Purpose Housing for school, church, convocations, P.E., etc. has begun!  Our new Youth Director, Mike Warren, from California, is now working with us here in Santa Cruz. He is the husband of Esther Luna Warren (Our Bolivian Director's daughter). Mike is a fine teacher, preacher and an engineer. The cost of this building is around $13,000 and is being "sponsored" by Carol Daubenspeck of White Chapel. Thank, Carol!

4) We now have a NEW WEBSITE which will be maintained by Michael Lund an American Missionary working with us here in Santa Cruz. We are so blessed to have Michael & Daisy Lund with us. He is from Alabama & is a fine teacher-preacher, also. Can you imagine two Alabama Boys in the same mission?  ! Ha!

5) A few days ago Michael and I travelled to a Men's Drug & Alcohol Rehab Center and shared the word of God. All of the men responded to the invitation and made or, reaffirmed their commitment to follow Christ. It was such a joy to minister to such needy, hungry people. Recently, Michael asked me to help him share at the Women's Rehab Center and we saw lives changed. There was a special baptismal service on Easter Sunday for the ladies.  Many of these ladies had previously lived on the streets as prostitutes or drug dealers.

6) There have been a lot of wonderful things happening in this part of the world. One special miracle happened last Sunday when our State & City of Santa Cruz voted for Autonomia (Independence from Communism). There are now 5 states out of 9 that have voted for Independence-"Autonomia." In the past the Communists have come to destroy our churches and schools, etc. but, we have always been Divinely protected. On one occasion all of the Christian believers in this area marched for freedom down our streets & avenues of Santa Cruz. There were, newspaper count, more than 850,000 believers marching, singing and proclaiming, "we will die for Jesus!" The opposition army turned back! Ha! One of our students said to his teacher following another communist army threat of attack (they completely surrounded our city for more than two weeks and no traffic could enter or leave. The city ran out of food, gas, etc.) This young man said to our Music Director one morning, "teacher, we are not supposed to be afraid! I had a dream last night and Jesus said "don't be afraid!"

7) We have a "Bolivian Native Missionary" working with us who is able to travel the Jungle Rivers and reach many tribes, etc., who have never heard the Gospel. Our Jungles here are so beautiful and are inhabited by several tribes, including cannibals. Also, we have lots of friendly crocodiles, boas, monkeys & piranhas! They like to get close to you! I talked, one time, to a "converted cannibal" and at
the end of our conversation I asked him a silly question. "Before you became a Christian and you were still a practicing cannibal, which part of the body did you enjoy eating most?" Without hesitation he looked at me and responded, "The Hand!" I did shake hands with him when he left, but I was a bit hesitant! Ha!
