A Humble Beginning
East Coast International Church was planted in 2001 with the help of Calvary Christian Church in Lynnfield, MA. Since then, God has been adding to our number and we are now in the process of planting satellite churches ourselves!
ECIC has had some very humble beginnings where we used to meet at Ingalls Elementary School's Auditorium due to the tragic loss of our first building we bought to a fire. It wasn't until January of 2010 that God had blessed us with a building we didn't have to rent. Since then, we as a Church have put in countless working hours fixing the place up (it was a real mess when we got there!) and even taking home trash! Things are looking better as of late, but there is always work to be done!
ECIC has always been dedicated to the renewal and restoration of city of Lynn. We regard every resident of Lynn to be a member of our church, regardless if they show up on Sundays or not. We are committed to the vision of seeing "Lynn, Lynn, the city of sin" (as the popular rhyme goes) being converted into a place where people are empowered, lives are transformed, addictions are broken, and Christ is proclaimed. We've intentionally placed our Church building right in the center of downtown Lynn so that we can be at the heart of what God is doing here.
Today, we are located on 65 Munroe St and have already started up many programs to help revitalize the city! If you would like to know more, please visit the About Us section of our website.
A Place to Call Home
At ECIC, we want everyone to know that they are welcome here. We have a strict open door policy because Christ has extended his kingdom to everyone and we are merely trying to follow in His footsteps. If you live in Lynn, we already consider you a member of our Church, and by Church we don't mean a building, but rather a community of people who are the family of God. (In fact, we used to meet inside a school auditorium!) It is not the building that is important, it is the relationships you will find here. If you take one step into our service on Sunday mornings, you will encounter people from every walk of life, people who've been down to the bottom of the bottle and people who struggle to make ends meet, people from broken families and people just trying to make a difference in the world. We are everyday people called together to love God and to love each other well, to help and support one another through hard times, and to give praise to the God who enables us and strengthens us to carry on. We are family and we would like to invite you into our (and your!) home.
